This is the only course of it's kind that will give you the knowledge and skills to get a job in a real professional radio station.
I just want to go in a studio and make a demo!
I just want to go in a studio and make a demo!
We hear this a lot. If you are considering spending lots of money on other courses that just teach you how a radio studio works and help you make a scripted demo, we'd strongly advise you to save your money (and join a community radio station).
Commercial radio Programme Controllers will not employ you unless you are competent and able to do the job.
Not only are there plenty of experienced presenters out there looking for work, but they would be taking a massive risk putting someone with no basic legal and ofcom training on air, not to mention the potential loss of sponsors if an advertiser hears an 'unprofessional' presenter on their station. Even the least experienced Programme Controller will be able to tell that you're inexperienced, even if you have a brilliantly edited, slick demo that you've spent hundreds of pounds on.
There's no magical shortcut to becoming a professional radio presenter - it takes months of serious practice with the right coaching.
Radio Masterclass is an affordable, ongoing course taught in a small group which will help you learn and master the skills you can't gain from practice, with professional coaching from experienced commercial radio programmers who have been teaching these skills professionally for over a decade.
We aim to give you the experience you would get if you worked professionally for a commercial radio station for at least 6 months.
Our course tutors are well respected within the radio industry and we aim to produce presenters we can be proud to associate with our course and help us establish our training as the new standard for the next generation of digital commercial radio presenters.
Our first course has just finished and we asked the students what they thought of Radio Masterclass...
"It will give you an insight into radio and the industry, touching on many different areas from interviewing techniques to the legal side of radio. You also get to work with others so you can bounce ideas off each other" - Anita Maisuria
"Do it! It's a great price to gain such valuable experience. It's concise, well thought out and very enjoyable, presented in an enthusiastic and energetic manner with lots of examples - good and bad. I enjoyed the group exercises and meeting and learning from new people. I especially liked Gaz's appearance and input of experience" - Lia Christodoulou
"If you're completely new to radio, like me, this course opens your eyes and you learn a LOT - even if you have a little experience it will polish you up and teach you new techniques" - Shane Houghton
"Definitely well worth the money - it gave me a lot more confidence in applying for jobs and skills to use in my shows. At the end of the day if you get a job, you'll earn more money and if it's a job you love you'll never do a day's work in your life" - Neil Calfe
"Very useful and helpful towards my future. NOT a waste of time, but fun, enjoyable and informative too. This course will 100% benefit your knowledge of radio and all aspects of getting a job too - 100% worth it for your future" - Chris Guest
"This is a good way to learn how to broadcast better and the broadcasting industry" - Russell Auty
We want our students to get the most out of this opportunity by being able to interact in a small group and our tutors are working in radio full time, so we only run the course once a week on a Tuesday evening with a minimum of 6 and maximum of 10 students in each class.
As a result, there are a very limited number of places on the course and we have already had a lot of interest in this opportunity so we strongly advise you to book early to avoid disappointment.
